Galatians 5:22 (AMP)
“But the fruit of the Spirit [the result of His presence within us] is love [unselfish concern for others], joy, [inner] peace, patience [not the ability to wait, but how we act while waiting], kindness, goodness, faithfulness.”
Patience is that ability to wait but to wait also with the right attitude. You can’t say you’re patient, if during your waiting period, all you do is complain and mourn. The waiting period cannot be separated from patience. Eventually what you’ll get as a result of your waiting depends on how you waited, whether you waited with or without the right attitude.
Patience is not wasting away, you’re simply waiting for God to do what He will do with you. God’s timing is not man’s timing and patience is one the things that brings us into alignment with God’s will. One who cannot patiently journey with God cannot enjoy the blessings of waiting on God.
The waiting period should bring you close to God. Find out his will and His purpose for you. Patience perfects God’s will in you and make you grow capacity for God’s purpose for your life. When you sense a waiting period concerning a thing, embrace it with joy and with the right attitude and you should know God is in the waiting room with you. He’s there to teach, direct, anchor and hold you for the next phase coming your way.
Confession: I have patience and allow it work out through me as I wait on the Lord.
