“Jesus said to her, I AM [Myself] THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE. Whoever believes in (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on) Me, although he may die, yet he shall live.”– John 11:25 (AMP)

Lazarus was a friend of Jesus whom He loved so dearly, with His two sisters. It happened that this man was sick and the case was reported to Jesus. Within a couple of days more, he died. After he had been dead for four days, Jesus Christ visited him.

Then, Martha, one of his sisters challenged Jesus that if He had been around earlier, her brother wouldn’t have died. But Jesus revealed to her a dimension and personality of His that He hadn’t yet revealed beforehand. Jesus said, “I AM THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE…” This revelation changed the situation of things.

Whoever believes in Jesus, though he were dead would live and this was the experience of Lazarus, though he was dead yet, he lived by the quickening power of Jesus Christ.

There are many situations that can be likened to this in the life of every man. Being a disciple of Jesus doesn’t mean problems and challenges won’t come your way, and even death might come knocking literally. But your faith in Jesus is capable of giving you life, here on earth and even eternally.

There are many who are sickly and dead in the Spirit, Jesus, who is the Resurrection and the Life is able to bring you back to life and alive in God, all that is required of you is to have faith. You have to keep believing in Jesus in order that you might live as someone who is alive in God.

Reflections: Is there any area of my life that I need to experience the power of life and resurrection? How firm and strong is my faith in Jesus to bring to life all that is dead in me?

Confession: I have life and I am alive in God. Death does not work in me nor does it hold any power over me because I have the life of God at work in me. I am alive to righteousness and dead to sin and unrighteousness.
