I BELIEVE IN MIRACLES (24)

“And He did not do many miracles there [in Nazareth] because of their unbelief.” – Matthew 13:58 (AMP)

The hand and power of God is able to move in different ways and dimensions and God cannot be limited by any force of nature. When Jesus Christ came into the world, He was anointed with the Holy Ghost and power and He went about doing good, healing all manners of sicknesses, delivering those who were oppressed of the devil and raising the dead. These great things Jesus did and everyone knew that someone great and mighty had walked among men.

But not all lands He walked in experienced these mighty acts. Was it because He was not powerful enough to do them in all lands? No. The receptiveness of the people did a lot in making it possible for those mighty acts to be done. And one day, He entered Nazareth, where He grew up, and they did not honour Him. They treated Him like He was a commoner because they were overly familiar with Him and His history while He was growing up. They dishonoured Him and the power of God inside of Him.

Many people go to church to pray and to ask God for a miracle and leave without receiving anything. Was this because God was unfaithful to His Word? No. Many believers have dishonour for God and His anointed in their hearts and no matter how often and how hard they pray, if this dishonour is not dealt with, it will always hinder them from receiving what the Lord has for them. Dishonour is a state of the heart that treats with disdain what should be held in high regard and esteem.

Dishonour to God blocks out His blessings from gaining access into the lives of those who are His. Anywhere there is dishonour for God and His anointed, there will be lots of unanswered prayers. As a Christian, you must give high regard for those whom the Lord has anointed to bear His name and message to the world. The only place Jesus couldn’t many great things was where He was dishonoured because they were too familiar with Him. Beware of dishonour, it is capable of blocking out miracles.

Reflection: Honour for God and His anointed unlocks the door of miracles and experience of God’s power.

Confession: I am of the right heart. My heart is filled with awe and reverence for God and His anointed. I deal with every seed of dishonour in my heart. For me, miracles are real and they are manifested in my life daily.
