AFTER ANSWERED PRAYERS (1)

“Hannah prayed and said, “My heart rejoices and triumphs in the Lord; My horn (strength) is lifted up in the Lord, My mouth has opened wide [to speak boldly] against my enemies, Because I rejoice in Your salvation. “There is no one holy like the Lord, There is no one besides You, There is no Rock like our God.” – 1 Samuel 2:1-2 (AMP)

One of the best feelings in the world is that which you have after you have received answers to your prayers. It’s like drinking a bottle of cold water after walking tirelessly in a hot sun. It is soothing, comforting and satisfying. Imagine that this was what Hannah felt after God answered her prayer and gave her a son after many years of torment and ridicule from her rival.

What was her response? Thanksgiving. Yes, that’s right. A lot of believers don’t know that they are ingrates. Many of them don’t bother to give thanks to God for what He has done. They can spend days and hours asking God for what they want in the place of Prayers, but they barely give Him minutes in heartfelt thanksgiving.

Hannah took her time to thank God for what He did in her life. She was not in a rush. She meticulously chose her words of thanksgiving. She was indeed grateful and God could see her heart.

You must be careful not to also be hypocritical with your Thanksgiving. Do not give thanks because you want to receive more, genuinely thank God for what He has done whether He gives you more or not. Hannah wasn’t thanking God because she wanted more children, she thanked God because God took away her shame and reproach. And yes, God gave her more.

What do you do after you have received answers to your prayers? Does your desire for more greater than your appreciation for what He has done for you? You must learn to give quality time in thanksgiving for what God has done for you. Do not be an ingrate. And do not thank God because you want to receive more. Thank Him genuinely. This is the first experience you should have after answered prayers.

Action Point: Make a note of several answered prayers you’ve received and intentionally take time to appreciate God for them today.

Confession: I am born of God, seated with Christ in heavenly places, far above principalities and powers. No weapon formed against me shall prosper.
