BELIEVE AND SPEAK

“I believed, therefore have I spoken: I was greatly afflicted.” – Psalms 116:10 (KJV)

Many believers today confess God’s word into their lives because they believe it will come to pass. So, the prayer of confession isn’t only made when someone sin or wants to repent of guilt and shortcomings; prayer of confession can be made to confess great things, positive things and the word of God into our lives.

Looking at the text, David was surrounded by enemies and it was like he was going to die, but he trusted in God and his faith made him confess to God’s saving grace. He knew God’s words about him and about his feeling, he believed it and confessed it to himself. Confessing it to himself, made the word to be planted firmly in his life. He began to see the reality of the word of God.

The same thing Apostle Paul was explaining to the Corinthians that it is because of our faith and belief in Christ that we make confessions to be saved.

2 Corinthians 4:13 (KJV) “We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak.”

Faith is highly important even in the confession of the word of God. Faith!

So therefore;

We believe, we confess

We are saved, we confess it

We preach, it’s a confession of our faith and belief.

You can’t confess what you don’t believe in, you can’t claim what you are not sure of or what your faith can’t fathom. You must believe. Believe in God, in His words, in His promises and in His power.

But, how can you believe it if you don’t hear?

Hearing the word of God and the voice of God is also important. Opening your heart to Him, to the words He has spoken and the words He is sending through his Prophets, and like the Bible says; you will be established.

So, today;

Hear the word

Believe the word

Have faith in God

Confess His words

And you will see the words and the power of God, coming through for you. Amen!

Reflection: What do you hear? What have you said to yourself? What is the word of God saying? How often do you listen, study the word of God? What do you believe in, the Word of God or the world?

Confession: I hold firm my faith in the Word of God and I confess every promise He has given me until they become my reality.
