God’s Will In Marriage (1)

Genesis 2:18 (AMP)

Now the Lord God said, “It is not good (beneficial) for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper [one who balances him—a counterpart who is] suitable and complementary for him.”

In contemporary Christianity, one of the most discussed topics among young Christian folks is the matter of God’s will in marriage. This is a matter that raises a lot of questions in the hearts of young men and women who are looking to get married and have a Christian home. In an attempt to have this kind of home, the first challenge is what God’s will is in marriage.

Marriage was God’s idea and not man’s. From the beginning, He saw Adam’s need and created Eve as the right companion and help meet. Understanding this truth helps us treat marriage as a divine institution, not a social experiment. God designed marriage to reflect His love, partnership, and purpose. For singles, this means you don’t have to force or manipulate relationships. You need to consult the author of marriage itself to get the blueprint for it. For married couples, it means your union has a divine purpose beyond emotions and intimacy. It’s a calling to glorify God together.

To every single one, surrender your timing for marriage to God’s timing. Don’t work things our in your way and time. To every married couple, ensure your union is bringing glory to God and populating his kingdom. Marriage is supposed to be done God’s way, not man’s way, for it to be aligned with the will of God. What’s your desire?

Confession: I seek God’s will for me in marriage, and I do marriage God’s way.
