Psalms 139:2 (AMP)
“You know when I sit down and when I rise up [my entire life, everything I do]; You understand my thought from afar.”
The Holy Spirit is the Third Person of the Trinity who has been given to believers as our Comforter. And as a person, He yearns for closeness with us. He knows us and wants us to know Him as well. He wants to be our friend, our guide, and our first go-to person. One of the reasons for studying our Bible and praying is to fellowship with the Holy Spirit. He likes to hear us speak, and He wants to speak to us. He’s waiting for us to open up and occupy the areas we’ve shut up because of pain, abuse, maltreatment, and unfairness.
The Holy Spirit understands us more than we understand ourselves; He’s willing to guide us toward healing, growth, purpose, and maturity. He wants us to come to a place of total dependence and vulnerability with him. The love of the Holy Spirit towards us is overwhelming, and He wants us to love Him back. He wants to speak with us and share a deep relationship with us. The Holy Spirit is ready to guide us into God’s truth and will if we will follow as He leads.
The Holy Spirit wants to share in our pains, our fears and uncertainties and help us overcome them one by one. The Holy-spirit wants to be involved in all area of our lives from the biggest things to the tiniest things. Intimacy with the Holy Spirit is such that draws us closer to Him. We spend our time fellowshipping with the Lord. It alters the way we pray, the way we study, the way we speak, the way we think. We pray to hear Him, we study to know Him and our mind is filled with transformed thoughts.
There’s nothing we can do outside of the Holy Spirit. The exciting thing is that the Holy Spirit wants us closer than you can always imagine, so the moment you open to Him, He’s right there to start the journey of intimacy with you. Why don’t you set every weight apart and start a journey of an intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit? Allow Him into the strongest and weakest areas of your life and see the beautiful things that come out of you as a result of your intimacy with Him.
Confession: I allow the Holy Spirit fully into my space as I become more intimate with Him.
