Ephesians 6:6-7 (AMP)

“Not in the way of eye-service [working only when someone is watching you and only] to please men, but as slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart; rendering service with goodwill, as to the Lord, and not [only] to men.”

The call of God comes in different forms and patterns, but it must be obeyed for the same purpose, and that is that the Kingdom of God be experienced on earth. Being a Christian doesn’t stop one from engaging in certain duties on earth, which are a function of occupation or gifts. It is therefore important to note that Christ can be exemplified in our various works of service, whatever they are.

Being a believer, you have been called to serve the Lord Jesus Christ in any position you are in, and your faithful service to other men can bring glory to God because you are not just serving men but Christ, who positions men in authority and leadership. Diligence and faithfulness, even when no one is watching, are one strong way to practice this. And this is what births the reward Christ gives, which is eternal. Pursue the eternal reward more than the physical and temporal.

Every act of service you do under the auspices of someone else’s leadership is a means through which you can model Christ. This means that it’s not only your service in the Church that should be done as unto the Lord; your service in your workplace should also be done as unto the Lord. By doing this, you show that Christ has influence over every area of your life. Let your life be an example that unbelievers can follow by your faithfulness and diligence.

Confession: I faithfully and diligently serve in my workplace as unto the Lord and not as unto men.
