Think On These Things (6)

Proverbs 4:23 [AMP]

“Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life.”

What does a man guard jealously and zealously, if not that which is so much precious and valuable to him? The heart is known to be the seat of will, emotions, intelligence and it is sometimes used interchangeably as the mind. Out of your heart comes the issues of life and still from your heart flows the springs of life and so you cannot afford to allow things that make for corruption have access into your heart. No, you shouldn’t! Your heart is so precious and valuable that you cannot allow just anything enter into it anyhow. Whatever it is that will be your outward disposition will be a direct result of the things that you have given permission to take over your heart.

Seeing and knowing of a truth that a man cannot do more than the state of his heart, it is imperative that concentration is placed on your heart above any other part of your being because the heart controls all other parts of your being. What a man will become comes from what he has allowed his heart to ponder upon over time. Do you blame men and women who are supposed believers and yet still live like an unbeliever? Well, they are not just living like that by default, something has been done to their hearts that make them live a life that is below expectation. Giving access to corruption the same way you give access to the Word of God turns your heart into an unnecessary battlefield.

A territory that will not be successfully invaded must be guarded jealously and heavily with all seriousness. Soldiers must be placed at the entrances of such territory and their responsibility is to monitor those who come in and go out and also alert those inside the territory incase of any imminent danger. It is with this kind of understanding that you should live your life. You must ensure that nothing harmful or dangerous is allowed permission into your heart. Do not be deceived, your heart must be pure before you can live a pure life. An impure heart produces an Impure life. Guard your heart jealously.

Confession: I guard my heart with all diligence; I do not allow corruption into my heart.
