WORSHIP: MAN’S WHOLE ESSENCE (1)

“I appeal to you therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of [all] the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies [presenting all your members and faculties] as a living sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual worship.” – Romans 12:1 (AMP)

The Old Testament gives a vivid and powerful introduction of God as the One Who created the heavens and the earth. All things exist because God had so fashioned it to be so and everything will continue to be for the purpose and pleasure of God. Genesis 1:1a – “In the beginning God…” God is the One Who has been in the beginning even before time began and there is no other PERSON or ENTITY that dares take His place.

He creates everything that makes the heavens and the earth to exist, both the seen and the unseen world. And it is important to note that no one can unashamedly say that there is no God, even though some may not accept to believe in His existence but that doesn’t stop Him from existing, and for this reason, every moment a man says there is God or even at the slightest mention the name “God”, he is acknowledging His powerful presence and existence.

Worship starts from acknowledging the One Who is the Greater above the greatest. By default, man is a being of worship and there is no other meaningful thing man can use his life to do outside of the worship of the Almighty God. A man who does not acknowledge God in any sense cannot be said to worship God.

God forsakes those who fail acknowledge Him and His Supremacy because He is not a man that can be dishonoured. What we call worship in our church services does not start from singing melodious songs, but it starts from acknowledging the Person, GOD. What dilemma would it be that a man sings to God but has not yet first of all acknowledged Him with much reverence in his heart!

Let every moment you spend living be for the acknowledgement of God as the One who is Supreme and above all.

Practical Application: As you go about your business today, at intervals, take time to say words of acknowledgement unto God. Acknowledge His Person and Power.

Confession: I acknowledge that God is Supreme and Almighty. He is the One and Only and there is jo one else beside Him. I spend my days living to acknowledge Him. I live no day without acknowledging His power and presence.
