“For ever since the creation of the world His invisible nature and attributes, that is, His eternal power and divinity, have been made intelligible and clearly discernible in and through the things that have been made (His handiworks). So [men] are without excuse [altogether without any defense or justification], because when they knew and recognized Him as God, they did not honor and glorify Him as God or give Him thanks. But instead they became futile and godless in their thinking [with vain imaginings, foolish reasoning, and stupid speculations] and their senseless minds were darkened.” – Romans 1:20-21 (AMP)
Jesus Christ did a lot in vividly revealing the picture of God as the Father who cares about His own and while teaching on the subject of prayer, He declared, “Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be your name!” This first statement pictures a whole lot about how God should be seen by the works of His hands. In saying this, Jesus acknowledged, not just the presence of God, but the Supremacy of His name and Almightiness of His power.
Everything God has created is for the purpose that man would know God and honour and glorify Him as God. Whatever man that fails to glorify God as He should be will come to realize that in lives in the futility of His mind. How a man can live in the futility of his mind is to be irreverent towards God. Sadly, lacking reverence for God is a reality many Christians live in today and there is no way around it if that honour is not restored.
Have you ever been in a situation whereby you think it best to relegate God into the backseat because you are going through tough times that are beyond your comprehension and for that fail to glorify God as God? Situations like that are there to test our resolve of how much we know the Lord. Treading the path of unthankfulness is a path that leads to being alienated from a fruitful relationship from God.
So, what do you do? Never cease to praise the name of the Lord in every situation, starting from your heart to your outward expressions in words and songs. And more, your lifestyle is a worship that God would love to bask in. You can worship the Lord through your lifestyle when you live it in honour of His name. Until you begin to live with this consciousness, you have not started to truly live.
Practical Application: Identify areas of your life where you live without honour and reverence for God and then, consciously look into it and seek God concerning it.
Confession: I am chosen, loved, redeemed, empowered, strengthened, justified and sanctified. I live each day for the praise and honour of God Almighty. No situation is allowed to take the raise of God from my mouth.
