God’s Will In Marriage (2)

Isaiah 40:31 (AMP)

“But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] Will gain new strength and renew their power; They will lift up their wings [and rise up close to God] like eagles [rising toward the sun]; They will run and not become weary, They will walk and not grow tired.”

When many young Christians are asked why they are yet unmarried, they do say they are waiting on the Lord for direction and guidance on the choice they have to make. Waiting can be one of the hardest parts of discovering God’s will, especially in love and marriage. But waiting in faith is not wasted time. It is preparation time.

God uses the waiting season to build character, maturity, and discernment. Rushing ahead of God’s plan often leads to pain and regret. Whether single or married, patience keeps you aligned with God’s perfect will, not your emotions or pressures. To every single waiting and trusting God for a future partner, replace anxiety about “when” with gratitude for “who” God is forming you to be.

Don’t allow anxiety to rob you of your joy and gratitude. While you wait, let God prepare you for what he has prepared for you. And to every married couple, practice patience with your spouse. God is still working in both of you.

Confession: In my waiting season, I do not waste away, but I maximize that period of my life.
