John 15:5 (NKJV)
“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.”
Every believer must come to know and understand that, like the branch of a tree stays to be fruitful, so must he abide in Christ who is the Vine to be healthy and fruitful. Our existence and relevance in life is in Jesus, anything outside Jesus is not existing. Your branch can only grow green and healthy leaves with fruits only if you abide in Jesus.
The day you start to feel you can do things your way is the day that what make your existence relevant is separated from you and you’re replaced, no one is irreplaceable. When a branch is broken off from a tree, the same point at which the branch is broken off from, a new branch starts sprouting.
Until we all come into realization of the fact that our entirety is only functional when we are in Jesus, we would leave a meaningless life. A meaningful life is not centered on material possessions but on fruitfulness in God through Christ. Abiding is staying put to that which God has commanded. In this season, make intentional efforts to stay in Christ, no matter the temptation to detach yourself from him. He who detaches from the Vine, dries off and dies.
Confession: I abide in Christ come what may and I do not detach myself from Him.
