I BELIEVE IN MIRACLES (19)

“But it happened that as one was cutting down a beam, the axe head fell into the water; and he cried out and said, “Oh no, my master! It was borrowed!” [6] The man of God said, “Where did it fall?” When he showed him the place, Elisha cut off a stick and threw it in there, and made the iron [axe head] float.” – 2 Kings 6:5-6 (AMP)

Science has proved beyond every iota of doubt and argument that iron doesn’t float on water, rather, it sinks deep into it. This principle agrees with nature and nothing changed it until the power of God changed the natural response when it was needed. On a rather busy day for Elisha and the sons of the prophets, they were cutting beams to make another space for themselves and suddenly the axe head one of the servants were using fell into the river.

The way this young man shouted suggests that the river was a deep one and no one could enter in to bring up the axe head but prophet Elisha was used hy God to do the miraculous. The young man showed Elisha where the axe head fell and the prophet threw a stick at the exact location and the axe head floated. Amazing! What this meant was that the stick which was supposed to float went down and the axe head which was supposed to sink floated. The natural order of things changed because the power of God was available.

The power of God is still as much present and active today like it was in those days. God is still able to change the natural order of things for those who belong to Him to live in comfort. Imagine the axe head sank, it would have been a problem because it was borrowed. God will not let you be put to shame and can because of you change the natural order of things. You need to trust Him. There is nothing that God cannot make possible. Let Him step into your situation and turn things around for your good.

Reflections: Have you ever been in this kind of situation where you wished and prayed that the natural order of things would change in your favour? What was the outcome?

Confession: God is the One who created all things and I am His. I experience the supernatural for I put my trust totally in Him. For me, miracles are real and they are manifested in my life daily.
